St. Alphonsus purchases 4-acre property
Since building the middle school, St. Alphonsus has been land-locked with little to no options to meet the continuing needs of our growing parish. As the parish grows, so do the needs for more space for our parish and school. Meeting space continues to be a tremendous need. Recently, our Parish Goals Committee came up with a strategic plan to be carried out by the Pastoral Council and staff, with more space on the top of the list.
Fortunately, a couple of weeks ago, we were able to purchase four acres of property, which connects to the rectory property across from the school on Frenchtown Road. There is also access to the property from the Old Greenwell Springs Road.
I see the acquisition of this land as a major plus for the parish as we move forward. It will provide the much needed space for the parish to expand and meet future demands. A planning committee will be put into place to assess the immediate and long-term needs. This process will begin soon, and I will report the future plans as decisions are made. We are very blessed here at St. Alphonus that we could acquire this property, and we are most grateful for your financial support, which makes all of this possible.
Have a blessed week,
